Keeping the Lines of Communication Open

Recognizing the high value of upward employee communications and candid dialogue between employees and management, MSS has initiated new programs in 2007 designed to keep the information lines open across the company. The “Town Meeting Hosted by the CEO” is such a forum designed to improve dialogue among employees and, in this case, directly with Tim Hughes, CEO/Owner of MSS.

One morning each month a group of employees, Directors and Vice President excluded, sit down with Tim Hughes for a 60-90 minute discussion of interesting and relevant topics effecting MSS. The groups are made up of individuals from EVERY department, including the road and crating crews. It is a true cross section of the company, with approximately 10-15 people at each meeting. There is no set agenda for any of the meetings, as it is designed to be a free flowing exchange of ideas between Tim Hughes and each employee. No topic is off limits.

The first Town Meeting was held in January and has occurred monthly following that. The feedback on it from employees as well as Tim has been excellent. The “Town Meeting” has greatly improved the lines of communication between all employees and Tim Hughes allowing everyone involved a better outlook on all the dynamic aspects of MSS.
